Marathon Specators

So there are 8 days and some odd hours until I run 26.2 miles.

I won’t lie, I’m a bit nervous.  Though, I also have to admit – that even more than the nervousness, I am REALLY excited.  In less than 8 days, I get to go to the expo (if yelling SQUEEE!!!!! was more manly, I would totally do that.  I love expos.) get my bib, all sorts of free stuff and get REALLY REALLY excited and nervous!

The cool thing, is that it looks like I have people coming out to support me.  The Curvy Roadrunner is going to be out at mile 22 cheering on her blogging (and other running) friends! I have a coworker that is planning on timing his run (not the marathon, just his normal Saturday run) through Rock Creek park, so that he can be there cheering for me.

I know my family will be somewhere, but my wife hasn’t decided where yet.  I have had several other co-workers claim they are going to come out and cheer as well.

It’s unfortunate that the 5 or 6 hour drive is a bit far for my folks to come cheer, but I know they will be there in spirit (my dad is a former Marine.)

I suspect that having people I know and care about there to cheer me on, will definitely add to the day!

About

I run, because I am a runner. Having realized that I have always "been a runner" - even when I went years with out running, I am learning how it has integrated itself in all aspects of my life. When I started running in highschool, my perspective on life changed. Funny that I didn't realize how much it had affected it until just recently.
