Marine corps marathon 2011

I got to see the beginning of this years Marine Corps Marathon  and it was a sight to see.  It appeared that the last runners crossed the starting line around the 20 minute mark and there were clothes EVERYWHERE!!!!

Later in the day we were over at the national zoo, and I saw my first marathon finisher.  Even if she hadn’t been wearing here medal, the “omg I forgot my compression shorts” walk was a dead giveaway. I never saw a person so happy with themselves.

Of course throughout the rest of the day we saw more finishers, but I suspect that none of them felt s much of an accomplishment as the first one I saw.

Congratulations to all the finishers!

About

I run, because I am a runner. Having realized that I have always "been a runner" - even when I went years with out running, I am learning how it has integrated itself in all aspects of my life. When I started running in highschool, my perspective on life changed. Funny that I didn't realize how much it had affected it until just recently.
