New Record!!!

So, I went out for my five-mile run last night (No, that’s not the new record.)  My feeling awesome about running, because I rested – continues!  I let my legs pick the pace (still not the Record) and went at the speed they wanted to run!  In fact,I even told them to slow down, as I questioned my ability to keep it up for 5 miles.. You know what they said?

no

They couldn’t Bear the idea of running at any other speed!

I was REALLY pleased with the time there!  I won’t lie, I had begun to wonder if I could even run an eight minute mile anymore! Seeing the entire run at 7 mph or faster did my heart good!

But, you want to know about the record..

Today is Sept 20th.  As of this day, I have run 80.5 miles this month.  My previous record in a month was 77.8.   That means EVERY run from now until the end of this month sets a new record for me!  I promise I will NOT post that in every blog posting, but I also promise you will see it in my monthly recap. 🙂

Did you know that $25.00 provides a hot and healthy dinner for 10 people in a homeless shelter? Even $5.00 provides a meal for 2 people!

Please consider donating to my Help the Homeless fund-raiser for Volunteers of America Chesapeake’s homeless services program. I am running the Marine Corps Marathon on October 27th, and would like to use the opportunity to raise awareness, and funds to help the homeless. You too Can help by donating! Even a donation of $10.00 is appreciated!

Please click on the link and donate. All donations are matched through Fannie Mae, so giving $10 is actually giving $20.00!

About

I run, because I am a runner. Having realized that I have always "been a runner" - even when I went years with out running, I am learning how it has integrated itself in all aspects of my life. When I started running in highschool, my perspective on life changed. Funny that I didn't realize how much it had affected it until just recently.
