So my son ran the Healthy Kids fun run! I asked him if he would like a blog post about this – he said yes, but couldn’t remember much about it. My wife suggested it be done as an interview!
So how did you like the fun run?
I really really enjoyed it. I really liked how it went by quickly, and how it felt good rooting other people on – helping to give them something to think about.
What do you mean root people on?
Well, when I was running I met some kids I didn’t know. I saw them slowing down and some times walking. I would tell them “You can do this, you are almost there!” They would smile and speed up a little. You could tell it helped.
What was the best part of it?
When I saw the smile on my Dad’s face.
Did you get tired?
Yes, it was tiring, but it went by quickly. It was really fun.
Do you plan on doing any other runs in the future?
Yes. Sometimes I run outside with my dad, sometimes on the treadmill. Me and my dad were thinking about doing a 10k next year.
How did you like the expo?
It had some tasty samples. There were a lot of free things that I liked. I was happy when my dad got me flashy ring.
What sort of free things did you get?
A flashlight/lantern, a couple of string bags, a towel, a fanny pack, a beach ball, some water bottles, and a pen!
Here he is with his Medal!!!
How was the food/swag/shirt?
I liked the food bag, and really liked the shirt!
He Seemed to have a good time. He also seemed broken. He passed out on the way home!
Loved this post. My niece ran it too. Congratulations to your son on the proud finish – and already being the kind of encouraging runner that makes the running community so awesome.
He said thank you very much!
Very cool!
