I hope everyone had a fun and safe New Years Eve! I know I have readers that were celebrating wile I was still at work, since New Zealand moved in to the new year quite a bit before the East Coast of New Years, followed by my readers through out the Mid-East and Europe. Where ever you were, I hope it was merry and that 2015 holds bigger and brighter things for you than 2013 did!
We had a small gathering at home, with friends for the kids and ourselves present! Good friends is always a nice way to welcome in the new year! On the blog, we have a new look (with a new header to come!) and a new out-look!
I don’t believe in Resolutions for myself
for the very same reason as Calvin doesn’t, for the same reason I don’t believe in diets. Both sound like temporary things, where my goals are supposed to be lifestyle changes that are on-going. So what lifestyle changes do I have in store for 2014?
1) Strength Training. Running last year was a blast, but it wasn’t enough. I picked up the Bowflex last year, but held off using it as everything I had read said adding strength training during marathon training wasn’t the best move. This is going to see much more use this year than last! (In fact, I have already done my first session of the year!)
2) Personal Trainer. I really wished to run my first marathon on my own, with no trainer – and I succeeded in this! Now in 2014, I plan on getting a personal trainer to help me with my workouts. I am really excited about this one!
3) Win the Lottery. Now, I admit I have very minimal control over it.. But I am REALLY hoping for this “lifestyle” change. I promise, I am not one of those people who claim it won’t change me.. For one thing – without working – think about how much more time I will have for running and working out!
My list of races will be up soon for 2014! One a month at least, with distances from 5k to a marathon!
How about yourself? Any lifestyle changes for the coming year?
