Running outside in the cold of winter

I know, since you didn’t hear from me this morning- you were thinking “Jeez! He has already given up, and it was only day 3!!”

I’m very pleased to say that this is not the case.  The actual reason – is that I decided that running on the dreadmill was silly, and instead should be headed out side.  Mostly because I hate dreadmills…    So, despite it being the end of January, I was going to brave the cold and head outside for a run after work.

With beginning a new job, I am attempting to remember that I cannot hurt myself, so I am limiting myself to two miles or so right now… but I kind of got lost.  Fortunately when using my phone to track my run – it means that I have my phone to give me directions!  It moved my 2 mile run to a 3 mile run, but still nothing that I am worried about hurting myself with.  Though it wrecked my splits since I had to stop and put in my hotel for directions back.. It did get colder while I was out.

But, I held up like a trooper, and stayed out there.

I run, because I am a runner. Having realized that I have always "been a runner" - even when I went years with out running, I am learning how it has integrated itself in all aspects of my life. When I started running in highschool, my perspective on life changed. Funny that I didn't realize how much it had affected it until just recently.
