#Janathon Day 4!

Hadn’t posted a picture in a while.

So between Janathon, and this diet-thingy my wife has me doing… It amazes me that it is only the 4th of January.  Feels like I have been doing this for a week or two!  I think tomorrow I will get a post up about the Whole30, which is the diet we are on.  So far it seems to involve my wife making extremely awesome food, and giving some to me.

I’m a fan.

But back to Janathon, today is day 4 and a Sunday!  That means LONG RUN DAY!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!!  I got out of bed, and my calves and Achilles were quite tight, and my legs in general were tired.  None the less, I’m a wee bit stubborn, so a long-run it was going to be!!!   I waited until the afternoon, so the day would be as warm as it was going to get (55 degrees!  WOO HOO!), and headed out in a shirt and shorts.  My goal, considering my legs were already tired – was to keep it between 9:30 and 10:00 minute miles.  I thought I should be able to handle that, and it shouldn’t push my legs to badly, on top of what they already have faced.  I managed fairly well, with my overall average being a 9:35.  My first and last miles were quick in comparison (and only in comparison) to the ones in the middle.. The first one, I kept looking at my watch and making myself slow wpid-wp-1420409716174.pngdown, and the last one – I wanted to be done!  Seriously.  I enjoyed most of it – but by the end, the lower extremities were no longer amused with this hobby.

A nice walk the rest of the way home helped loosen things up, and a quick stretching session really perked the ‘ol legs up.

I see some foam rolling or use of the stick before bed!

Janathon total: 14.04 miles.

About

I run, because I am a runner. Having realized that I have always "been a runner" - even when I went years with out running, I am learning how it has integrated itself in all aspects of my life. When I started running in highschool, my perspective on life changed. Funny that I didn't realize how much it had affected it until just recently.
