#Janathon day 16 – Picking up speed.

So last night I had to hit the store for the dinner “fixins”, do I could make dinner when I got home.  I knew there was a run in my to do list, so I wanted some thing quick.  I had found recipes for Paleo Burgers and for Sweet Potato fries, both seemed fairly speedy.  Turns out the fries take forty minutes to cook, but it was totally worth the wait!

With a belly full of meat and potatoes, I headed out of the door to conquer the night!  The thing about running at 8:30 at night (besides your wife worrying about her idiot husband) is that you are the only runner out there.  Running in the dark, by the light of my headlamps and streetlights I was in my own peaceful world.  It really made the audio book come alive.  (Firefight, by Brandon Sanderson)  last night was one of the first runs I have truly enjoyed this year.  The legs knew what they were supposed to do, very little ice – it was all good.

Splits?  I was pretty pleased with those as well.

They headed in the right direction as my legs warmed up.  Now, I have no illusions. I’m still starting over, but now I really remember what its all about.

About

I run, because I am a runner. Having realized that I have always "been a runner" - even when I went years with out running, I am learning how it has integrated itself in all aspects of my life. When I started running in highschool, my perspective on life changed. Funny that I didn't realize how much it had affected it until just recently.
