So, I kind of forgot to do my weather picture around the time of my run. Fortunately, it hasn’t changed in the two hours that have passed!
A balmy 32 degrees (zero Celsius)! Seriously, compared to what I ran in yesterday, the temperature felt great! With a snowstorm incoming, I felt that I should get out while I could.
The run started off well. I kept my pace reasonably slow since it was my weekly “long run.” I hadn’t decided on distance, just somewhere between 4 and 6.5. I felt the sluggishness there that my current Whole30 diet is causing, and my legs weren’t up to anything faster than a 9:30 mile. No worries, the sluggishness should be gone within the next week or so, so I think I can manage.
Anyway, back to the run
I headed down to Crofton Parkway, figuring the loop, depending on the side street I leave from, is a choice between 5 and change, or six and change. According to daily mile, I have run 15 miles so far this week, and given how much better 20 miles sounds than 19 – I wanted at least five miles today.
As I hit the two-mile
marker, I knew my diet-tired legs were NOT on board with the 6 miles and change. At the 2.5 marker, I knew that the “and change” portion of the five miles wasn’t my best move.
All things considered, I wasn’t to disappointed in the splits, although the red light in the fourth mile did annoy me a bit, if I am going to be totally honest here.
The run was good, pleased as peaches that I got it done!
Day 11 of Janathon is in the books!
